Here are 7 AI tools that are actually making a difference for regular people right now.
1. Claude (claude.ai)
This is the AI I use most. It's like having a brilliant friend who happens to know about everything — business, writing, research, planning. You talk to it like a person and it talks back like one. Free to start, and the paid version is worth every cent.
Best for: Writing, planning, research, figuring things out.
2. Ideogram (ideogram.ai)
Type a description and it generates a stunning image in seconds. I've seen people use this to create wall art, logos, social media graphics, and product designs without touching Photoshop once in their lives.
Best for: Creating images and designs from scratch.
3. Perplexity (perplexity.ai)
Think of it as Google but it actually answers your question instead of sending you down a rabbit hole of links. It searches the web in real time and gives you a clear answer with sources.
Best for: Research and finding information fast.
4. Descript (descript.com)
Edit a video or podcast by editing the text transcript. Delete a word from the transcript and it disappears from the video. It also clones your voice so you can fix mistakes without re-recording. Wild stuff.
Best for: Anyone making video or audio content.
5. Notion AI (notion.so)
Notion is already a brilliant tool for organising your life and work. Add AI on top and it summarises your notes, writes content, and helps you think through problems inside your own workspace.
Best for: Organisation, note-taking, planning.
6. ElevenLabs (elevenlabs.io)
Type anything and it reads it back in a voice that sounds completely human. People are using this for audiobooks, YouTube voiceovers, and faceless content channels. The quality is unreal.
Best for: Creating voiceovers without showing your face or using your own voice.
7. Make (make.com)
This one is slightly more advanced but worth knowing about. It connects all your other apps and tools together and makes them talk to each other automatically. No coding needed.
Best for: Automating repetitive tasks across multiple tools.
The point of this blog isn't to overwhelm you. It's to filter out the noise and tell you what's actually worth paying attention to.
